Hostgator
I’ve been involved with HostGator for a few months now. I know there are many different services offering to host your web site, but I have found HostGator to be especially responsive to questions and concerns. This is kind of interesting, when I signed up I noticed that there was a box where I could enter a promotional code. I searched the internet and found a Discount Coupon and entered one of the codes. Guess what, I immediately received a discount for my first months hosting fees.
As I was setting up my account I had some questions and so I logged onto their “Chat Line” service and very quickly I was chatting live with a service representative who answered all of my questions. Chat line representatives are trained to discuss Support, Sales etc.
At the time of this writing hosting is as low as $7.95 a month and, here’s the part that I really like, that includes an unlimited number of domain names. To me that was something I was looking for. I didn’t want to have to pay more money each month just because I wanted to have more than one web site up and running.
As far as their keeping up with the cutting edge technology, well I was a little concerned. They don’t offer a lot of bells and whistles so I wanted to make sure that they do continually upgrade. In talking with them about my concerns I received an email stating that they will be making PHP5 part of their standard working environment in addition to upgrading MySQL from version 4.1 to 5.0.
